Hello and welcome to devilishlydestructivedelights, a blog dedicated to my passion for cooking and ignoring the rules.
I am a twenty year old, self taught ‘cook’ who specialises in sweet treats and destroying appliances, most notably a microwave which I managed to blow up while defrosting bread.
My biggest inspirations come from that of the women in my family. Mother hen has taught me it’s okay to completely ignore the books and to just ‘keep pouring until you think it’s enough’. My great grandmother has also taught me that you can make a meal from just about anything and that even though the jelly around tinned meat is odd I will carry on eating it to preserve her memory and her strange sayings.
For me it’s all about trying new things, having a bit of fun, making a lot of mess and not becoming disheartened when things go wrong (or more commonly the smoke alarm won’t stop ringing even when I flap a tea towel near it).
I am a girlfriend and homemaker to the wonderful Richard who I have been with for almost four years now, a Mumma to my cheeky staff pup Murphy and am currently a teaching assistant at a primary school. If that isn't enough to keep me busy I have many arty hobbies including scrapbooking and cake decorating. When I find the time I like to go for long walks with my boys and go on many adventures whilst also finding the time to see my friends and family. This blog will be a mixture of all of the above and document how I manage to juggle such a busy lifestyle.
All I have to say now is thank you for checking out my blog, enjoy what you see and don’t be afraid to get in the kitchen because really, anyone can be a cook.
