Devilishly Destructive Delights Reviews: Free Prints

I love having photographs. I love the idea of being able to pull out the box of photos my parents have tucked away in a shoebox and look through them all for hours, remembering all of the holidays we've been on, all the places we have visited and all of the memories we have made. I always had it in my head that in ten years time I would be pulling out my very own shoebox full of photographic memories.

But thanks to the technology such as iPhones, digital cameras and Instagram everyone seems to be neglecting the age old hard prints and instead choosing to 'share' pictures electronically which I feel really kills my dream.

I can't blame everyone else for this because I myself am just as much to blame. I constantly snap using my phone and no longer own a digital camera. I am obsessed with Instagram and if it wasn't for that app then I probably wouldn't take pictures at all. I do however like to get a selection printed every now and again and either frame them or put them in a scrapbook explaining all of these memories. I have used my fair share of printing sites including Foto.com, Snapfish and Photobox and have had a variety of experiences with all of them. What I have found however is that the delivery charges tend to be far more expensive than a large amount of prints. Often I have found  deals on prints which turn out to be free but when I get to the checkout I am appalled to see that delivery is as much as £7. I of course understand that prints and packaging can be heavy but this just seems ridiculous!

With this in mind I was of course intrigued by the app 'Free Prints' which in my eyes seemed too good to be true. I read through many of the reviews and everyone absolutely raved about it. I bit the bullet and downloaded the app. Free Prints quite literally does what it says- it offers you entirely free prints, all you have to pay for is the delivery which will never be more than £3.99 no matter how many you order. Great! Just as I was beginning to look through the hundreds of photos on my phone a message popped up offering me free delivery if I chose ten prints. Result. I selected ten prints of Murphy after realising we don't have any of him around the house. All of the ones I selected had been edited on Instagram and the app noticed this and offered to change the size of the paper to suit the photo size. Although I think this is a great feature I turned it down on this occasion in order to receive this deal but this would definitely come in handy in future. The app was really easy to use, foolproof even and I ordered my prints without a moments thought.

Today I received my free prints and was immediately impressed with the service. I had ordered these prints very late Saturday night (try 1am) and received an email straight away informing me my order had been received. I also received an email a couple of days later giving a vague date in which my orders would arrive which actually was two weeks from now. The packaging was very sturdy and easy to get into- none of this tricky plastic or tape. The prints had their very own wallet to prevent damage and included an offer of 25% off a fellow prints company that specialise in cards. I am absolutely thrilled with the prints and they match the quality of other sites that provide the same service.

Naturally there is limits to how many prints you can get- up to 45 6x4 prints each month and 500 6x4 a year. However I still think this is a fantastic deal for someone like me who likes to buy them every now and again and I think it would encourage me to buy more.

I would certainly recommend this app to anyone and it is available on both the Apple Store and Google Play.

    1. It is brilliant, I have to say. It sounded too good to be true but I am glad I went through and ordered some. You may even be lucky and get the same code I did for free shipping! x
